This week Matthew asked me, “Do you want to take a walk?” Our walk brought us through the UC Riverside campus. I saw a sign saying “botanical garden” ahead so I pointed it out and hoped he would say “Oh yeah you want to go there?” I was a little sad when he didn’t, but, surprise! He surprised me with our destination being the UCR botanical garden! I was in Heaven. I couldn’t wait to get to the herb garden. At one point we were even surrounded by a professor and his class where we stood and learned about plants adapting to grow in arid environments. (Fun fact: did you know cutie oranges were developed at UCR?)
I loved all of the different lavender plants we saw. Lavender is soothing, comforting, calming… not to mention having the ability to be used in culinary dishes. I have one lavender plant at home, and I’m going to move it to a more sunny spot in a few weeks where it will grow even bigger. I’m also going to seed some more lavender plants this week, as I am wanting to try my hand at making my own essential oils this summer. For those of you that like lavender, here is a link to Trouvés’ vanilla lavender soy candle.
After our brisk walk I sprayed my face with Trouvés’ new rosewater spray (on the website for sale soon!), which freshened up and clarified my slightly oily face.
