If you’re looking for our wedding photos post, here is the post.
I’ve had a whirlwind of a month! From making a wedding dress with a long train within two weeks, while also agreeing to art direct an art exhibit, to helping another friend with a Colorado wedding… I’m ready to just take a breather! I thought once we got home I’d be home free, but Matthew had previously gotten us tickets to see Real Estate that night, so I put aside my complaining (for the most part) to be a good wife. It helped that I was gellin’ with my Dr. Scholl’s insoles. (Get a $1-$10 rebate here.)
I don’t even know what to do with my time right now, since every spare second was filled with sewing this dress. Well, there’s the issue of my home looking like a Midwest tornado just passed through it- it’s putting me a little on edge looking at it all. I haven’t had time to pick up since I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my friend’s wedding dress. And she looked RADIANT in it. Like, I really wish this would’ve been my wedding dress. It was a Zac Posen lookalike but in a deeper ivory and heavier satin. But more on that wedding later.
Earlier this month I flew to Denver to see my college buddy Abby get married to a real standup guy, Jason. Abby’s one of the few college friends I’ve stayed in touch with- she is such a great friend and she’s just hilarious to be around! I remember when Lindsay introduced us for the first time I thought she was too pretty so I was really nervous around her. She was a jock but was also super nice.
For her wedding I said to her, “just put me to work!” and boy howdy, did she ever! It was a lot of work, but nothing beats being able to hang out with her all weekend. I was also really honored when she asked if I could take some photos during the bachelorette and wedding rehearsal. I took them all on my iphone 5 mostly using my Camera + app ($2.99) that professional photographers use to turn your phone into a professional camera, and it has a great editing feature. At one point I thought to myself “great, I look like like an Asian tourist taking photos of everything.” I wanted to say Guys! She asked me to take photos, I swear!
She planned EVERYTHING. Everything was as organized as organized gets, and she looked perfect. the dress was so her, and the natural makeup by a local makeup artist was incredible. It literally didn’t look like she had any makeup on.
Below are some photos of the wedding prep! I love how they had pop up recycling bins, homemade craft beer, and other locally-purchased items.
