If you’re looking for our wedding photos post, here is the post.
I’ve had a whirlwind of a month! From making a wedding dress with a long train within two weeks, while also agreeing to art direct an art exhibit, to helping another friend with a Colorado wedding… I’m ready to just take a breather! I thought once we got home I’d be home free, but Matthew had previously gotten us tickets to see Real Estate that night, so I put aside my complaining (for the most part) to be a good wife. It helped that I was gellin’ with my Dr. Scholl’s insoles.
I don’t even know what to do with my time right now, since every spare second was filled with sewing this dress. Well, there’s the issue of my home looking like a Midwest tornado just passed through it- it’s putting me a little on edge looking at it all. I haven’t had time to pick up since I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my friend’s wedding dress. And she looked RADIANT in it. Like, I really wish this would’ve been my wedding dress. It was a Zac Posen lookalike but in a deeper ivory and heavier satin. But more on that wedding later.
Earlier this month I flew to Denver to see my college buddy Abby get married to a real standup guy, Jason. Abby’s one of the few college friends I’ve stayed in touch with- she is such a great friend and she’s just hilarious to be around! I remember when Lindsay introduced us for the first time I thought she was too pretty so I was really nervous around her. She was a jock but was also super nice.
For her wedding I said to her, “just put me to work!” and boy howdy, did she ever! It was a lot of work, but nothing beats being able to hang out with her all weekend. I was also really honored when she asked if I could take some photos during the bachelorette and wedding rehearsal. I took them all on my iphone 5 mostly using my Camera + app ($2.99) that professional photographers use to turn your phone into a professional camera, and it has a great editing feature. At one point I thought to myself “great, I look like like an asian tourist taking photos of everything.” I wanted to say Guys! She asked me to take photos, I swear!
She planned EVERYTHING. Everything was as organized as organized gets, and she looked perfect. the dress was so her, and the natural makeup she had done was incredible. It literally didn’t look like she had any makeup on.
Below are some photos of the wedding prep! I love how they had pop up recycling bins, homemade craft beer, and other locally-purchased items.
